2024 Member Dues
(January 1, 2024) -- Members: it's time to pay your 2024 dues. Dues can be paid in person at an upcoming meeting or mail them to: The Italian American Society of Peoria, P.O. Box 6276, Peoria, IL 61602. Dues are $36 for a single membership and $60 for married couples. Deadline for payment is March 31, 2024. No one will be excluded from membership if unable to pay the membership dues, but we ask that you please let us know of your circumstance. Thank you.
2023 Return of the Festa
(May 13, 2023) -- We are happy to announce that the Festa Picnic is returning after a three year absence due to the pandemic. Join us on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 12-5 p.m. at Hickory Grove Park. Details about this year's picnic can be found on the Festa page on this website (click here).
New this year - be a Festa Picnic Sponsor! We have several levels available for sponsorship. The Festa Picnic is our main way to fundraise for our scholarship programs. Your sponsor dollars help us provide a great picnic experience and continue to fund post high-school scholarships for people of Italian descent. 2021 Italian American Heritage Spaghetti Dinner
(October 3, 2021) -- The Italian American Society of Peoria held a carry out spaghetti dinner on October 3, 2021 at the Knights of Columbus on Radnor Road in Peoria. The sauce was made the day before by a few of our members who stepped up to the challenge. While the crowd was not huge, all of the feedback we received about the food was positive. Everyone loved our Society recipe and the quantity of food they received with their orders. There was much laughter and a good time was had by all who volunteered. We just love being together! Happy Italian American Heritage Month!

Italian Heritage Celebration
(October 3, 2020) -- Join us on Sunday, Octobrer 11 as we celebrate our Italian American heritage and our society. The meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Alexander's (100 Alexander Ave, Peoria). We will have Italian music, dessert and appetizers for all to share. There will also be an opportunity to look at pictures from our past and learn about the beginning days of our Society and our history in the local area. Hope to see you there!
91st Festa - 2020
(July 14, 2020) -- Since 1929 the members of the Italian American Society of Peoria have celebrated our heritage with our annual Festa picnic. What began as a private event among the members has grown into a popular public event in the Peoria area. We were blessed to celebrate an amazing 90th Festa in 2019.
Due to the COVid-19 pandemic, in order to comply with state-wide recommendations on gatherings and to keep our members and the greater communiy safe, the Italian American Society of Peoria will not hold a public Festa in 2020.
This year we will hold a smaller, private, member-only picnic to keep the traiditon of the picnic going. We have every intention of returning in 2021 for our 92nd annual event and hope to see you all there to say, "Benvenuto!" (Welcome!).
Internal Scholarship Applications
(January 5, 2020) -- The Scholarship Committee is happy to announce that we are now accepting applications for our 2020-2021 internal scholarships. Candidates for this award must be children or grandchildren of Society members deemed in good standing, having been a member for a minimum of five years. The scholarship may be used to defray the cost of tuition, books, or other academic expenses at the recipient's selected college or university. A maximum of $700 is awarded to each recipient. Members may request applications and selection criteria by writing to the Italian-American Society of Peoria Scholarship Committee at P.O. Box 6276, Peoria, Illinois, 61601.
